Pattan, Nov 27: SSM College of Engineering celebrated Constitution Day (Samvidhan Divas) to commemorate the adoption of the “Constitution of India” on the same day in the year 1949 in the Constituent Assembly of India with full zeal and enthusiasm.
The preamble of the Constitution was read by the Principal, Registrar, Principal SSMPTC, Director (Research and Academics), and Head of the Departments accompanied by the faculty, officials and students.
Prof. (Dr.) N.A Shah Registrar said on the occasion that every year 26th November is a very special day for every Indian citizen. This is the day when the Constituent Assembly of the country duly adopted the Constitution of India. It is the Constitution which makes us realise the feeling of a free citizen of a free country. While the Fundamental Rights given in the Constitution give us our rights by becoming our shield, it also reminds us of our responsibilities in the Fundamental Duties given in the constitution.
Students and faculty of the college participated in the events “Read Preamble” and “Quiz based on Constitutional Democracy” organised by the Government of India and obtained certificates.
The principal presented a vote of thanks on the occasion.
