Ganderbal, Feb 06:  Sonamarg, a picturesque tourist destination in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, after receiving snowfall, transformed into a mesmerizing white wonderland.
Tourists from various parts of the country flocked to this renowned spot to witness the magical spectacle.
The snow-covered terrain of Sonamarg has become a playground for enthusiastic tourists who engage in snow activities, from playful snowball fights to thrilling rides on sledges. The joyous atmosphere was palpable as families and visitors embraced the unexpected gift of snowfall.
Expressing their delight, a family from Chennai shared, “It is like a dream come true for us. Arriving in Sonamarg today, we were greeted by the charming mountains draped in fresh snowfall. This is our first visit to any hill station, and it exceeded our expectations.”
Another family, on their inaugural visit, emphasized the unique charm of Sonamarg in winter, stating, “The amount of fun here, which is already enchanting in the summer, becomes even more beautiful in the winter. We plan to make this a yearly tradition, as the valley is not just a paradise in the summer but transcends into a winter wonderland.”
Tourists eagerly flocked to witness the snowfall, extending beyond Sonamarg to nearby places like Gagangeer.
The famous location of Sonamarg, situated at an altitude of over 9000 feet above sea level, attracted crowds eager to capture the breathtaking views. From striking poses for photographs to immersing themselves in the joy of snow, visitors contributed to the festive ambiance, despite the chilly conditions that gripped the entire area.
Sonamarg, with its recent heavy snowfall, continues to captivate and enchant tourists, offering a unique and unforgettable winter experience amidst the pristine beauty of Kashmir.
