SKUAST scholar clinches place in finals of ‘Viksit Bharat Leaders Dialogue’

Srinagar, Jan 01: Sania Shabir Soherverdy, a Masters student in Soil Science, Faculty of Horticulture, SKUAST-K, Shalimar has secured a spot in the National finals of prestigious Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue. She emerged victorious in the first three rounds of this national competition, which aims to engage and empower youth to contribute to India’s development through innovative ideas and strategic solutions.
The competition began with the Viksit Bharat Quiz, testing participant’s knowledge of India’s progress and developmental goals in which almost 1 million students participated nationwide. The second round saw around 1 lakh participants and only 50 students were selected from each state for the next round. She presented her ideas on “Enhancing Productivity in Agriculture” during the third round of the competition- Pitch Deck round. Following her pitch, she has participated in personal interview round, where she was commended for her deep understanding of agricultural challenges and forward- thinking solutions she earned the title of Best Performer in the interview, securing her a place in the National Championship.
Giving credit of her success to her Alma-meter SKUAST-K, Sania expressed great sense of gratitude towards Hon’ble Vice Chancellor SKUAST-K for giving incredible opportunities to students and research scholars
Prof. N.A.Ganai, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of SKUAST-K congratulated Sania and attributed this achievement to talent, dedication and commitment of University students across all disciplines.
National finale of the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue will take place at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi on 11th & 12th of January 2025 where the winners will get a chance to pitch their ideas before Prime Minister of the country Shri Narendra Modi.
