Shopian, Jan 18: Krishi Vigyan Kendra Shopian organised one day training programme for rural you titled “Recent advances in Biological management of Plant Diseases” sponsored by Ministry of MSME, GOI on Thursday at Trenz Shopian.
The event was attended by 62 rural youth (women self-help groups) along with scientific and technical staff of KVK Shopian. Coordinator of the training programme Dr Shabeer Ahmad Ganie briefed the audience about the highlights of the training programme and presented a detailed power point presentation on biological management of seed borne diseases and biological control of plant diseases in vegetable crops.
He also stressed upon the importance of the training programme for upliftment of the trainees. Dr Bilal Ahmad Zargar emphasized on role vermicompost in horticulture. He also sought collaborative efforts of KVK Shopian with line departments and NRLM to continue for the betterment of farming community. He also highlighted the importance of organic inputs in modern agriculture to maintain export quality standards.
