SKUAST-K organizes industrial exposure visit for BVSc & AH students

Srinagar, Sept 12: The 3rd year BVSc & AH professional students of Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, SKUAST-Kashmir were provided an industry exposure.
A day long programme was conducted by the Division of Livestock Products Technology, Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, SKUAST-K. The students were exposed to the milk processing operations at JKMPCL’s Milk processing plant “SnowCap” Chasmashahi, Srinagar. Milk processing forms a component of the course curriculum of 3rd Year BVSc & AH Degree programme.
Going beyond the boundaries of theory-based teaching, the students were imparted an on-site industry based practical demonstration of sdifferent operations of milk processing. The students felt enchanted by this visit. The students were accompanied by Dr. Heena Jalal, Assistant Professor, Division of LPT. The Head Division of LPT, Dr. Asif Hassan Sofi, appreciated the gesture and cooperation extended by Farooq Ahmad, Administrative Head, JKMPCL.
Speaking about the importance of the visit, Dr. Asif informed that exposing the students to industry has now become a routine part of the academic programmes of the Division. He further added that exposure of the students to industry operations of agriculture and allied sciences shall go a long way in inculcating the entrepreneurial mindset in the budding professionals and SKUAST-Kashmir is committed for the same.
