Pahalgam, June 28, 2023: Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) of Home, R.K. Goyal, conducted a visit to Pahalgam today to assess the preparations and arrangements being made at the Nunwan base camp and Chandanwari camp for the upcoming annual Shri Amarnathji Yatra (SANJY-2023), set to commence on July 1.
Accompanied by Director General Police, Dilbag Singh, and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB), Dr. Mandeep Bandari, ACS Goyal was joined by DIG South, DC Anantnag, SDM Pahalgam, and other civil and police officers during the visit.
At the Chandanwari camp, ACS Goyal meticulously examined the healthcare facilities established at the DRDO hospital, aimed at providing top-quality healthcare services to the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatris. Emphasizing the importance of delivering exceptional facilities, he urged the concerned officers to work with utmost dedication and efficiency. Goyal also stressed the need for an adequate number of doctors and paramedical staff to be deployed at the hospital to meet the requirements of the holy devotees.
“The makeshift state-of-the-art hospital, constructed by DRDO at Chandanwari, will significantly contribute to providing superior round-the-clock healthcare facilities to the pilgrims of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra and the individuals involved in Yatra Management,” remarked ACS Goyal.
In order to ensure a seamless experience for devotees, ACS Goyal directed the medical officer to keep the medical facilities available round the clock, thereby preventing any inconvenience faced by the pilgrims.
Furthermore, ACS Goyal visited the Nunwan Base Camp in Pahalgam to assess the preparations and arrangements for the forthcoming Shri Amarnathji Yatra. He conducted a thorough inspection of the base camp, evaluating the provisions such as drinking water, healthcare services, toilets, sanitation, entry points, and langar management established at the camp.
Later, R.K. Goyal convened a meeting with the camp directors and other officials to discuss the execution of this religious Yatra. He urged them to ensure the provision of exemplary services to the anticipated influx of pilgrims to the union territory. Goyal emphasized the significance of maintaining proper sanitation and offering quality basic amenities at all locations designated for the pilgrims.
The camp directors and officials from various departments apprised ACS Goyal of the existing facilities available in the camps for the pilgrims.
The Shri Amarnathji Yatra holds immense religious significance and attracts devotees from across the country. The government, along with concerned authorities, is leaving no stone unturned to guarantee a smooth and comfortable pilgrimage experience for all participants.
