Jammu, Mar 13: On the pious occasion of Mahashivratri, National Conference, Central Zone Jammu organized “Bhandara” outside the University of Jammu, which was inaugurated by former minister and Additional General Secretary JKNC, Ajay Sadhotra.
Sadhotra was the chief guest and the event was presided over by former minister and Zonal President JKNC Babu Rampaul, the party said in a statement, adding Provincial Joint Secretary JKNC, Ankush Abrol was the guest of honour. Provincial Joint Secretary Surjeet Singh Manhas was the special guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Sadhotra said, “We should respect all religions to maintain amity, brotherhood and harmony. All the festivals should be celebrated together by people belonging to different religions.”
He added, “Unity in diversity is the keystone of taking Jammu and Kashmir to new heights disallowing nefarious elements bent upon to create wedge between different religions.”
Sadhotra lauded the efforts of Dr Vikas Sharma, Zonal Secretary JKNC for organizing the function and Bhandara in a befitting manner which ought to inspire other workers to do so with full zeal and zest. Celebration of such festivals joining hands together brings mutual love, bonding and respect for one another, he added.
On the occasion, Babu Rampaul said, “The present pressing circumstances have made the lives of people worse than hell and we should beware of such destructive forces which bring hatred amongst peace-loving people.”
A few journalists were also honoured on the occasion and a vote of thanks was presented by Vikshay Vashist. Other prominent persons present on the occasion were Rahul Mahajan, Dr Gourav Bharat, Roshan Sharma, Abhishek Uppal,  Mohd Umer Farooq, Vineet Gupta, Sahil Kerni,  Randhir Singh,  Aditya Kargotra, Arunpal Singh, Sahil Chib, Rajinder Singh,  Atul Sharma, and others.
