Shahoora T20 knockout cricket tournament continues in Pulwama

Pulwama, Nov 07: In the Shahoora area of Pulwama District, the Shahoora T20 knock out cricket tournament is going on in the Shah Zahoor Sports Stadium, Tumlahal, Pulwama organized by Bihar Adab Shahoora, Department of Youth Services and Sports and the district administration.
24 teams from Pulwama and Shahoora tehsils are participating in the tournament. Sports fans are enjoying themselves at Shah Zahoor Stadium Tamlahal as such a comprehensive tournament is being held for the first time in the area.
While a large number of players, sports fans and local people are present in the stadium, Thousands of people are enjoying the live broadcast of the matches on some news portals and social networking sites. Dozens of matches have been played in the tournament which started on October 25, in which many famous cricket teams of Shahoora and Pulwama tehsils participated.
The tournament was inaugurated by District Development Council Chairman Syed Bari Andrabi in the presence of officers and dignitaries of the area, during which a large number of players, sports fans and people of the area were present while the opening match of the tournament was played between SJCC Tamlahal and Tahab Tigers. which was won by Tamlahall. The next day the first match was between Nelora and Bitnoor which was won by Nelora. The second match was between Chandgam and Naira which was won by Chandgam. The main match of the tournament was played between the Pulwama Gymkhana and Young Boys Liter which was won by the Pulwama Gymkhana. Apart from this, the teams of Gabarpura, Machpuna, Achan, Alaipura, Chidran, Zasoo, Chakura villages do well demonstrated in the tournament.The sports fans of not only Pulwama but Shopian district expressed their happiness with the establishment of Shah Zahoor Sports Stadium in the area. Along with necessary sports equipment, they have demanded the construction of dressing room and immediate arrangement of mats in the stadium. Public circles have praised the Bihar Adab Shahora, Department of Youth Services and Sports and the district administration for continuing such sports activities.
It is worth mentioning here that the social, literary and public circles expressed their happiness on the establishment of a stadium named after the late Ghulam Bani Shah Zahoor, a well-known Kashmiri poet,Caligrapher and leading social worker.
