Gurugram, Nov 07: Getting the better of Alcobrew Distilleries XI in a tough contest by a narrow margin of 18 runs in the summit clash, ‘Yes We Can Cricket Club’ (YWCCC) lifted the title trophy of the Kashmir Premier Cricket and Cultural League (KPCCL), organised by Kashmir Peace Lovers (KPL) Trust Gurugram, here.
Raj Nehru, Vice Chancellor Shri Vishwakarma Skill University was the chief guest on the closing ceremony, while Rajesh Kaul, former President KSD were the guests of honour.
The trustees of KPL including Ajay Pandita, Dr RK Jalali, Pankaj Dhar, Vikesh Trisal and Mithlesh Labru.
Other members of the KPL Trust for community and other philanthropic activities included Sumeer Kaul, Aneesh Dhar, Rajesh Pandit, Sanjay Ambardar, Viren Dhar and Rohit Pandita.
Earlier, in the title clash, batting first, YWCCC scored a good total of 175 runs in the stipulated 20 overs.
In reply, Alcobrew Distilleries XI managed to score 157 runs, thus lost the match by a narrow margin of 18 runs.
Rahul UV was adjudged as the man of the tournament and was presented a trophy dedicated to late cricketer Rajesh Raina (Bobraj), while Santosh Bhat was declared as the best batsman and was presented a trophy dedicated to late Vikram Koul and Anuj was adjudged man of the match in the final for superb bowling display including a hat-trick and was presented a trophy dedicated to late BL Sadhu, mentor and supporter of KPL from the word go.
Meanwhile,in Under-16 Boys, Rising U-16 Stars Jagti defeated Utsav Foundation Gurugram to clinch the trophy, while Veterans tourney, Saffron Cricket Club Delhi defeated Aryan Cricket Club to win the Rolling Trophy and in Women’s section, Sharda Cricket Club Gurugram defeated Sharda Cricket Club Kashmir to bag the trophy.
Thousands of spectators were present on the closing ceremony which witnessed a variety of cultural items involving top Kashmiri Pandit artists.
