JAMMU, June 23: Launching a scathing attack on the Abdullahs, the Muftis, and the Gandhis at a rally in Jammu, Union Home Minister Amit Shah held them responsible for the killing of 42,000 people from 1947 to 2014 in the union territory.
He said the G20 event in Kashmir was a grand success and the participants went to their countries with a positive message about Kashmir.
Addressing a massive gathering at Bhagwati Nagar Rally Ground in Jammu amid sweltering heat, he said gone are the days, when the three families would rule and ruin J&K. He said Modi government wants to end terrorism, corruption, bring all-round development and make Jammu and Kashmir number one in the country.
He said, “42,000 people lost their lives due to terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. Those who support terrorism sitting in the government were identified and action has been taken.”
Union Home Minister, Amit Shah said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi led BJP government has crushed terrorism in J&K and ensured “full integration of J&K” with India by abrogating Article 370 and now this region is moving fast on the path of development.
Paying tribute to the BJP ideologue, Syma Prasad Mukherjee on his death anniversary, Amit Shah said Mukherjee was illegally arrested in 1953 for entering into J&K without a permit. “Why need a permit for entering one’s own country?’’ he asked. He said Mukherjee was jailed and later killed.
“We all and the entire country knows that today J&K is fully integrated with India,” Amit Shah said, adding, “It is only due to the ‘Balidan’ (sacrifice) of Dr Syama Prasad Mukherjee and Pt Prem Nath Dogra’s sacrifice that J&K has now become the crown of India in real terms”.
“Today his(Mukherjee’s) soul will be resting in peace as his mission and vision of Ek Vidhan, Ek Nishan and Ek Pradhan stands fulfilled,” he said.
Addressing a gathering here, the Home Minister asserted that due to the revocation of Article 370, terrorism has been curbed and stone pelting also come to an end.
“Abdullahs and Muftis, who ruled J&K for most of the time, oppose abrogation of Article 370,” Shah said and questioned, “I want to ask them that 42,000 innocent people lost their lives in all these years due to terrorism, who is responsible for that?”.
He said during the UPA’s 10-year rule, there were 60,327 terrorism incidents. During Modiji’s nine-year rule, terrorism is at its low .
Amit Shah said that due to commitment of the BJP led Modi government, there has been 70% decline in terror activities, while the stone pelting has become a thing of the past.
He said India is celebrating nine years of PM Modi’s rule and “Modiji’s rule is an open book’’. He said there is not even a single corruption allegation against Modiji, unlike the UPA government.
Meanwhile, Union Minister Amit Shah also offered prayers at Tirupati Balaji temple in Jammu district with Lt Governor Manoj Sinha.
The temple located in Majeen area of Jammu district was inaugurated virtually by Amit Shah on June 8. It has been built on 62 acres of land at an estimated cost of Rs 25 crore.
As part of his two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir, Shah on Friday afternoon inaugurated and laid foundation stones for various projects in Samba district. He laid the foundation stone of the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) and handed over the Golden Health card to beneficiaries.
Lashing out at Mehbooba Mufti for making hue and cry over civilian killings, the Home Minister said, “2056 innocent civilians lost their lives due terrorism in 10 year rule of UPA Government, while only 377 innocent civilians lost their lives due terrorism in J&K in 9 year rule of BJP led NDA Government”.
Amit Shah, however, said that every innocent killing is regrettable and it will be ensured that no innocent is killed. The Home Minister also said that successful conduct of G-20 summit in Srinagar has sent a message across the world that “things have changed in J&K after abrogation of Article 370”.
He said that some parties like Pakistan were opposing G-20 summit. “The successful conduct of G-20 in J&K has sent a positive message and the delegates of various countries have also carried forward the message that things have changed in J&K after abrogation of Article 370”. Shah also congratulated Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for successful conduct of G-20 summit.
A record 1.88 crore tourists visited J&K in 2022, which is a testimony that all is well here, Amit Shah said adding, “Now, instead of stones, the J&K youth have now laptops in their hands”. It is all due to policies of Modi Government, Shah added.
