JAMMU, Apr 02: Seven infants under the age of one tested positive for the Corona virus at the Shri MaharajGhulab Singh Hospital (SMGS), Jammu’s leading maternity and paediatric hospital, official sources informed.
All of the youngsters who tested positive were taken to Jammu’s Gandhi Nagar Hospital. “Four children have been discharged, while others are still under observation and being treated,” Dr ArunSharma, Medical Superintendent (MS), Gandhi Nagar Hospital, told Rising Kashmir.
However, the health administration has designated an 80-bed first floor in Gandhi Nagar Hospital for Covid patients, recognising the seriousness of the issue. In light of the surge in positive cases, the health department has also urged the general public and hospital personnel to adopt Covid-appropriate behaviour.
The SMGS Hospital management has also begun testing children who visit the hospital in the OPD as well as those who are hospitalised to the hospital.
