Senior National Pencak Silat championship 2022 starts in Srinagar

Srinagar, Oct 22: The 10th National Pencak Silat championship for Senior and Master ( Men and Women) categories kicked off Saturday amid enthusiasm among athletes here at Sher – e- Kashmir Indoor Stadium, Srinagar.
As per the official, around 1200 participants from different states of India are participating in this championship.
Joint Secretary J&K Sports council, Bashir Ahmad Bhat was the Chief Guest on the occasion while Sheikh Riyaz Ahmad Administrative Officer Sports Council was Guest of Honour.
The three day event, hosting teams from 34 States and Union Territories besides teams from Indian Police and ParaMilitary shall conclude on 24th October 2022.
During the championship events in different weight categories of standing besides competitions in Tunggal, Ganda Solo and Regu are scheduled to be held.
President Indian Pencak Silat Federation Kishore Kumar Yawley and Secretary General Indian Pencak Silat Federation Mufti Hamid Yaseen, Maqsood Ahmad Khan manager Sheri Kashmir Indoor stadium besides officials from Sports Council and other departments also attended the inaugural function in the stadium.
The event is being organised by Pencak Silat Association of J&K under the Banner of Indian Pencak Silat Association and is being sponsored by J&K Sports Council.
