Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra will commence on 3rd July and will culminate on 9th August. In this backdrop the crucial Unified Command meeting chaired by the Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha has an added significance. The meeting reviewed both the current security situation and the arrangements being made for the ancient pilgrimage that is undertaken by the devotees from across India and abroad to have the Darshan of the Holy Ice Lingam of Para Bhairava Shiva. The meeting was attended by the top brass of the civil administration, senior Army officials, Jammu and Kashmir Police officials and the officers of the paramilitary forces. The objective was the smooth and secure pilgrimage by the devotees who arrive from various parts of the nation and abroad to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva. In order to ensure hassle free pilgrimage without any threat to their lives the stock was taken of the prevailing conditions. So that the route security, deployment of the security forces along the route of the Yatra and the review of logistics is ensured. Keeping in view the difficult terrain to reach the Holy Cave of Amarnath Ji located in the Himalayas in South Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Administration is leaving no stone unturned. The meeting also delved on the issues related to intelligence inputs, rapid response systems, coordination between the various agencies to deal in case of emergencies. During the meeting the stock was taken also of the situation in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terrorist attack on the innocent tourists. It is pertinent to mention that the Pahalgam carnage orchestrated by the Pakistan patronised and trained battle hardened terrorists has changed the on ground security scenario. In this context officials discussed the need for proactive measures to pre-empt any attempts to disrupt the Yatra. LG Manoj Sinha has issued a clear and strong directive to the security forces and the agencies to dismantle the terror infrastructure completely in Jammu and Kashmir. It brings to the fore the policy of zero tolerance of Jammu and Kashmir towards terrorism so that the terror ecosystem is eliminated completely for the restoration of peace. It must be underlined that in the days to come ahead of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra and the Mela Kheer Bhawani at Tula Mula there is a need for collaboration between the civil administration and the security agencies as thousands of pilgrims throng these holy places. There is a need for constant monitoring of the Yatra. Keeping in view the magnitude and importance there is a need for high-tech monitoring of the pilgrimage with Artificial Intelligence (AI) as was done during the recently concluded Maha Kumbh at Prayagraj by establishing the control rooms with the police taking the lead. The meeting chaired by LG Manoj Sinha must be seen as a very important and timely step to ensure a safe Yatra. He has reaffirmed the resolve to end t terrorism completely from Jammu and Kashmir so that peace and harmony is maintained at all costs and local people are able to get economic benefit from the multiplier effect of the economy sustained by the pilgrimage tourism due to Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra and Mela Kheer Bhawani. The successful Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra is the objective both the local people in Kashmir and the Jammu and Kashmir Administration.
