Srinagar, Mar 09: Save Sharda Committee Kashmir celebrated Maha Shivratri at the Sharda Temple in Teetwal – a border village in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district and close to the Line of Control with Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
According to a press release issued here, the traditional puja rituals were conducted and walnuts were distributed to the locals as per tradition. The celebration saw a significant turnout of locals as well as members of the committee.
In a heartwarming gesture, members of the civil society in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) also participated in the celebration by offering walnuts at the Sharda Peeth in PoK, the statement said, adding, that they conveyed blessings from the snow-clad Sharda Peeth to the Kashmiri Hindu community.
Ravinder Pandita, the Head and Founder of the Save Sharda Committee Kashmir, extended warm greetings to the entire community and civil society on both sides of the Line of Control (LoC) on the occasion of Shivratri, especially acknowledging the members across the LoC.
