Jammu, Feb 01: In a broad day robbery, the burglars Saturday looted around 1.5 kg of gold at the gun point from one Anand Jewellery Shop in Greater Kailash area of Jammu, one of the busiest areas of the locality.
Giving details about the incident, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu Joginder Singh told Rising Kashmir, that some armed people barged into Anand Jewellers at Greater Kailash and looted around 1.5 kg of gold at gun point. “How much gold has been looted from the jewellery shop is also a part of investigation and we are ascertaining that,” the SSP said.
He said that two people are seen in the CCTV footage available from different locations of the area,” the SSP said. “As of now, it is not clear yet fully how many people were involved in the robbery”. He, however, said that the police will crack the case soon.
The SSP said that the police area examining all the CCTV footages and a few people have been questioned as well. “Investigation into the incident is in a full swing,” the SSP said, adding that the FIR has already been lodged. Meanwhile, people of the area staged a strong protest demonstration at Greater Kailash against the incident alleging negligence by the police.
