Anantnag, May 19: Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad on Sunday criticized the regional parties for neglecting crucial public issues in their election campaigns.
Conducting a series of roadshows in Bijbehera area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, Azad questioned the purpose of these parties contesting elections if they fail to address the real problems faced by the people. He accused them of exploiting innocent citizens once again.
He underscored pressing concerns affecting everyday life, such as the rise in electricity bills, lack of water facilities in rural areas, increasing unemployment, and the growing problem of drug abuse among youth.
“Why are these critical issues not part of the election agenda?” Azad questioned, urging the electorate to demand accountability and real solutions to their daily challenges.
Azad challenged the sincerity of parties claiming to champion the cause of Article 370, questioning their lack of action in the Supreme Court or Parliament.
The former chief minister pledged to enact laws to protect land and jobs for the region’s people if DPAP comes to power.
Urging support for his candidate, Advocate Saleem Parray, in the upcoming Lok Sabha election, the DPAP chief assured the electorate of Parray’s commitment to representing their issues and demands in Parliament.
