Srinagar, May 10: The people of Kashmir Valley are in for a big relief as the Road and Building (R&B) department has announced that they will be upgrading or macadamizing 1500 kilometers of road length this year.
Speaking with Rising Kashmir, Chief Engineer R&B Department Kashmir, Er. Rafiq Ahmad Rafiq said that the majority of the roads will be upgraded or macadamized, including the roads en-route to the G20 delegation, which have already been macadamized. This includes the Gulmarg road and other city roads, ensuring that visitors to the valley can enjoy a smooth and comfortable ride.
Despite facing challenges due to continuous bad weather in the valley, the chief engineer has reassured the public that once the weather improves, the department will press men and machinery into action to start the macadamization process.
The announcement by the R&B department has been welcomed by the people of the valley, who are eagerly waiting for the macadamization process to begin.
