Jammu, Jan 08: The terrorists who killed seven innocent villagers in Dhangri Village of the Rajouri District earlier this month were being handled from across the border and were receiving instructions from there, iSSP Rajouri Mohd Aslam told Rising Kashmir
The SSP stated: “During the course of the investigation, it has been established from the Call Detail Records (CDRs) and other aspects of the detained suspects that the terrorists who killed innocent civilians in Dhangri village of Rajouri District were being directedas to to how to carry out killings from across the border.
The locals detained also helped the terrorists in providing logistic support besides providing them local information like topography and information of escape routes, he said.
“Some Over Ground Workers (OGWs) from Rajouri have also been identified and intense questioning is going on to establish and link the chain and sequence of events of terror attack besides providing of logistic and other necessary support to the terrorists to carry out the barbaric attack targeting innocent civilians,” he said.
The Army spokesman said the search operation to nab the terrorists has now been extended to Poonch also.
“The operation by the Army and other security forces to hunt down the terrorists involved in Dhangri terror attack is not confined to Rajouri only but is now also going on in Poonch District,” an Army spokesman informed.
Meanwhile, sources informed that the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) is closely monitoring the ongoing investigation in the Dhangri terror attack and is seeking all details/information in this regard from the J&K UT administration on a regular basis.
The SSP said the agencies may come up with entire sequence of events about the terror attack i.e who helped them, sheltered them and who provided logistic and other assistance to the terrorists.
All the detained suspects are locals. Among these is a lady and a naib sarpanch. Meanwhile, sources informed that Army, Police and CRPF have launched a intense joint search operation in over a dozen villages and forests of Rajouri and Poonch to hunt down the terrorists.
