Srinagar, Oct 17: The Ministry of Education, Government of India, has temporarily appointed Prof. Binod Kumar Kanaujia, Director of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar NIT in Jalandhar (Punjab), as the Director of NIT Srinagar for a duration of six months or until a regular Director is appointed.
In an official communication, Deputy Secretary to the Government of India, Veena Dunga said that this decision follows the Ministry’s previous orders dated January 9, 2024 (Annexure-1) and February 9, 2024 (Annexure-II). The competent authority has approved the temporary assignment of the Director positions at NIT Srinagar and NIT Andhra Pradesh.
The order specifies that Prof. Binod Kumar Kanaujia will assume the temporary charge of the NIT Srinagar post. Furthermore, it indicates that Prof. Kanaujia and Prof. N.V. Ramana Rao, Director of NIT Raipur, will manage their respective additional responsibilities immediately, alongside their current duties, for a period of six months or until a regular Director is appointed for the aforementioned NITs, or until further notice, whichever occurs first.
