Srinagar, Sept 09: The Designated and Special Court Srinagar under NIA Act issued general non-bailable warrants under section 299/512, 25 Police Act read with 73 CRPC followed by proclamation orders dated September 4, 2023 under section 82CrPC against four active Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists.
A police spokesman said the non-bailable warrants and proclamation orders were issued against four active terrorists namely Umais Ahmed Wani son of Nisar Ahmed Wani resident of Chawalgam Kulgam, Basit Ahmed Dar son of late Abdul Rashid Dar resident of Redwani Kulgam, Owais Ferooz son of Ferooz Ahmed resident of Frestbal Pampore and Momin Gulzar son of Gulzar Ahmed Mir resident of Firdose Colony Idgah Srinagar after their involvement was established in Case FIR numbers 127/2022 under sections 13, 18, 20, 38 & 39 UA(P) Act 7/25 of Police Station Parimpora, Case FIR No 50/2022 under section 121, 121A, 307, 302 IPC 7/27 A Act 13, 16, 18, 20 UAP Act and case FIR No 02 /2023 under section 13, 18, 21, 39 UAP Act, 8/21 NDPS act.
“The Court through these orders has directed the accused persons to appear before the court within the period of 30 days from the date of publication of proclamation, failing which proceeding under section 83 CRPC shall be launched against them,” he said.
The spokesman said that on Sunday proclamation orders have been published in local newspapers.
“The proclamation orders were also pasted at the conspicuous part of their residences and contents of proclamation orders were also briefed to the family members of accused persons in easy language which they confirmed to have understood,” he said. The spokesman said that copies of newspapers were also provided to family members of the accused persons after proper receipts, besides the orders were also pasted at conspicuous places of the towns. “Besides, photography of each location as also conducted. The said proclamation orders have also been read over in loud at road locations,” he said.
The spokesman said that it is worth to mention here that, the involvement of said accused persons is required in many cases of Kashmir Valley. They are presently active terrorists and are affiliated with proscribed terror outfit LeT, he said.
