Srinagar, May 21: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, conducted a visit to the Yatra Transit Camp (YTC) at PanthaChowk to supervise the arrangements for the forthcoming annual ShriAmarnathJiYatra (SANJY)-2024.
Accompanied by SSP Traffic Muzaffar Ahmad Shah, Additional District Development Commissioner Zahoor Ahmad Mir, and other senior officials, the DC inspected the facilities being set up for the convenience of yatries during their temporary halt at the transit camp.
Dr.Bhat emphasized the need for a proactive approach from all concerned departments to ensure a hassle-free and smooth stay for yatries at the Yatra Transit Camp PanthaChowk.
Assurances were made that all necessary arrangements, including drinking water, electricity, sanitation, parking space, and bedding, will be in place well before the commencement of SANJY-2024.
The DC directed the R&B authorities to expedite work at the Yatra Transit Camp premises and repair the fencing around the compound. Additionally, the SMC was tasked with maintaining cleanliness and deploying adequate staff for periodic cleaning.
Healthcare facilities at the camp were also emphasized, with the Health Department instructed to ensure proper medical services as per past practices.
PDD Engineers were directed to ensure uninterrupted power supply and backup during the yatra period to avoid inconvenience to yatries.
During the visit, inspection of halt stations, public convenience facilities, proposed spaces for Langars, water management, and registration counters was conducted.
Arrangements for RFID and KYC registration were also discussed, with instructions given to ensure efficient and fast registration of yatries during their halt at PanthaChowkYatra Transit Camp.
