Handwara, Nov 23: Police have seized a second property associated with the notorious drug peddler in the Handwara area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
According to a police spokesperson, a 7-Marla land owned by Fayaz Ahmad Malla, son of Gh Mohi-ud-Din Malla from Muqam Himwanpora Kralgund Handwara, has been attached under section 68-F of the NDPS Act 1985. Fayaz is implicated in two NDPS cases, detailed as Case FIR No.67/2020 and Case FIR No.73/2022 under sections 8/21 of the NDPS Act at PS Kralgund.
During the investigation, the police identified the attached property as unlawfully acquired through the illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances by Malla. Currently detained under the PIT-NDPS Act, Fayaz Ahmad Malla is lodged at Central Jail Kot Balwal Jammu.
Local residents have expressed support for the police’s initiative, applauding the attachment of properties connected to the drug peddler. This move signals a collective stand against narcotics in the Handwara Police District.
Earlier, police seized some property of drug peddlers in the Villgam area of Handwara and have vowed strict action against the accused persons.
