Ganderbal , July 01: In a firm and swift action aimed at safeguarding the sanctity and security of the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY-2025), the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday apprehended an individual at Baltal Base Camp for possessing and using a fake Yatra Registration Card.The accused has been identified as Shivam Mittal, son of Krishan Mittal, a resident of Dwarka Puri, Jagadhri in District Yamunanagar, Haryana.According to officials, Mittal procured the forged registration card through fraudulent means and attempted to deceive the authorities by bypassing the mandatory verification process meant to ensure the safety and regulation of pilgrims.A case has been registered under FIR No. 13/2025 at Police Station Sonamarg under relevant sections of law. A detailed investigation is currently underway to trace the source of the fake document and ascertain if a larger network is involved.Reiterating its commitment to a secure and smooth pilgrimage, the J&K Police has issued a strong warning against any attempts to undermine the Yatra’s security protocols. Authorities have assured that strict legal action will be taken against all those found involved in such unlawful activities.
