Baramulla, July 18: Police on Tuesday destroyed wild cannabis plants spread across 4 kanals of government land at the Nai Basti Delina in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A police official said that acting on received intelligence regarding the presence of wild cannabis at the Nai Basti Delina, a police team led by PSI Rayees Ahmad, In-Charge of Police Post Delina, in collaboration with representatives from the Revenue Department, Excise Department, and respected individuals from Delina, Baramulla, embarked on the operation.
The entire operation was conducted under the overall supervision of Altaf Ahmad Khan-JKPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Headquarters) Baramulla. “Upon reaching the site, the team meticulously carried out the destruction of the wild cannabis plants that were spread across an area of approximately 4 kanals of land,” he said.
“The proactive efforts of the Baramulla Police were met with appreciation from the local community in Delina, who also actively participated in the eradication of the wild cannabis plants at the designated locations,” the official said.
