Budgam, Mar 06: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday said that they had seized six dumpers, one tractor, and arrested seven persons who were involved in the illegal excavation and transportation of minerals in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
An police official told the Rising Kashmir that during Naka Checking at MagrayporaBapora, the police team from the Police Station Chadooraintercepted six dumpers that were carrying illegally extracted bed minerals for transportation.
“The police team seized all six dumpers’ vehicles and arrested six drivers on the spot.” The arrested drivers were identified as Anayatullah Khan Son of Abdul Aziz Resident of Ladoo Khrew, Abdul Qayoom Wani Son of Jalaludin Resident of Batapora Ladoo, Abid Mushtaq Lone, Son of Mushtaq Ahmad Resident of Shar-Shali Pampore, Arfat Ashraf Khanday, Son of Muhammad Ashraf Resident of Mage Pampore, Aejaz Ahmad Ganai, Son of Gulam Muhammad Resident of Ladoo Pampore, and Mushtaq Ahmad Kumar, Son of Muhammad Ismail Resident of Ladoo Pampore,” the official said.
He said that, similarly, at the BugrooKhansahib area, the police party from the police station Khansahib intercepted one tractor carrying illegally excavated bed minerals from the Shali-Ganga Nallah. The tractor has been seized and the driver arrested on the spot. He has been identified as Ishfaq Ahmed Bhat, son of Bashir Ahmed Bhat, resident of ShamasabadKhansahib.
“A Case FIR numbers 34/2023 and 13/2023 filed under relevant sections of law, have been registered against the accused persons at Police Station Chadoora and Police Station Khansahib. and an investigation has been set into motion,” he informed.
