Acting tough against the persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, police have arrested 04 persons and seized 04 vehicles in Budgam.
A Spokesperson said that a police party of Police Station Beerwah at a checkpoint established at village Charangam intercepted 04 vehicles (tippers) carrying illegally extracted minerals. Consequently, all the vehicles have been seized and drivers have been arrested. They have been identified as Suhail Abbas Rather son of Gh Mohd Rather, Yawar Abbas Rather son of Gh Mohd Rather both residents of Paller Budgam, Shabir Ahmad Rather son of Ali Mohd Mir resident of Larkipora Budgam and Asif Ahmad Bhat son of Gh Mohd Bhat resident of Budina Budgam.
“Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 73/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Beerwah and investigation has been taken up”, he said.
