Srinagar, Oct 23: Political leaders Sunday greeted people on the occasion of Diwali, hoping the festival of lights will strengthen the traditional bonds of harmony and brotherhood in Jammu and Kashmir.
National Conference President and Member of Parliament from Srinagar Dr. Farooq Abdullah said, “I hope the day increases the prospects of peace, and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir in particular and the rest of the country in general. I wish people a very happy Diwali, hoping they will celebrate their happiness with those who are economically challenged.”
In a separate message, party vice-president Omar Abdullah said, “May this Diwali strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and communal harmony in J&K. I wish people a very Happy Diwali, hoping that the day augurs well for everlasting peace and prosperity in J&K.”
Apni Party (AP) President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari extended greetings to the people and urged them to pray for J&K’s peace and harmony on this revered occasion.
Chairman Peoples’ Democratic Front (PDF) and former minister Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen has felicitated everyone on the auspicious of eve of Diwali. He prayed that this festival may bring further brightness and happiness in our lives and may everyone be prosperous and content in his life.
Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) leader Arif Laigaroo greeted the people, hoping the festival will be celebrated with traditional harmony, enthusiasm and brotherhood.
