New Delhi, Feb 20: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday inaugurated the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) Atal Academy and Indovation Center at the Government Ramchandra Khaitan Polytechnic campus in Jaipur through video conferencing.
At the same time, during the program in Jaipur, Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan Dr. Premchand Bairwa, AICTE Chairman Prof. T.G. Sitaram, Member Secretary of AICTE Prof. Rajive Kumar was present. This center is spread over 3795 square meters. The cost of this project is more than Rs 27.4 crore.
During the program in Jaipur, Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Premchand Bairwa said that today is a historic day for higher education. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of many big projects in the field of education. Atal Academy is also one of them. In his address, he also enumerated the merits of the education system in Rajasthan.”
Meanwhile, AICTE President Prof. T. G. Sitharam said that moving towards achieving Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal of Viksit Bharat @ 2047, Atal Academies are being established to bring positive changes in the field of higher education and technical education. In the coming times, this center will develop as an ideal centre.
He said that the foundation stone of this center was laid in the year 2018. Now that it is ready, teachers and students from Rajasthan as well as other states of the country will also benefit from it. Atal Academy will focus on research, innovation, entrepreneurship and skill development. The center is equipped with state of the art facilities to provide guidance and training to our faculty members and stakeholders. In this centre, help will be provided from developing technology to protection of intellectual property and starting a startup.
He said that the culture of research and innovation will be promoted in Atal Academies to be opened in different states of the country. Prof. T.G. Sitharam said that AICTE believes in promoting all-round development of students. Amrut competition has been launched to promote creative talent among the students, which will also increase awareness about millets among the people.

AICTE has launched Atal Academy Faculty Development Program to bring positive change in the higher education system in India. This initiative is in line with the National Education Policy 2020 and aims to empower teachers to become effective researchers, innovators and leaders in their respective fields. Under Atal Academy, faculty members will have access to high quality Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) covering technical and non-technical domains.
