Srinagar, June 21: A delegation of the Jammu & Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) visited Sadepora Eidgah to participate in the Nimaze Jinazah (funeral prayer) of Bashir Ahmed Wani, who passed away Friday morning at his residence due to a cardiac arrest. The deceased was the cousin brother of senior PDP leader Dr Ali Mohammad Wani.
The delegation, on the directions of party president Mehbooba Mufti, was led by State Secretary Arif Laigaroo and included Sameer Ul Jameel, Fayaz Rah, Aqib Farooq, Azad Ahmed, Shabir Ahmed, and others, the party said in a statement.
The PDP leaders conveyed their sympathies to the bereaved family and recalled the contributions of Bashir Ahmed Wani as a social activist, describing him as a generous and noble-hearted person.
“Wani Sahib’s contributions to society will be remembered for a long time,” Laigaroo said. The leaders also prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul.
