Jammu, Oct 20: BJP spokesperson Ranbir Singh Pathania has underscored the importance of utilizing allocated funds effectively for the ongoing road projects in the region. He specifically emphasized the road project from Patri (Kuh Nallah) to Barsua and Barsua to Kathiel Ganju west, including two bridges, which was tendered at a cost of 17 crores but was eventually allotted at 13.25 crores.
Pathania informed the public that despite the project being near completion, a surplus of 3.75 crores remains unutilized with the Economic Reconstruction Agency. He stressed the potential of this surplus to further extend the road up to Panchayat Ghar Bhatyari in Ramnagar. This extension, he explained, would create an alternative road network, connecting Patri directly to Kagote-Dalsar road and providing an alternative route for Ramnagar, Chanunta, and Ghordi headquarters.
Furthermore, Pathania assured the community that efforts are underway to develop this road as a viable alternative network up to Ramnagar. He noted that the Jhonu-Patri road has enhanced connectivity to the revered shrine of Sri Jalandra Mata, benefiting local pilgrims and devotees.
The BJP spokesperson also shared plans for the repair and upgrade of the Rown-Ramnagar road, a crucial route for nearly two lakh residents. He revealed that a multi-crore project worth 22.59 crores under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) has been finalized for the upgradation of the Rown-Ramnagar road. Despite the road being transferred from the Public Works Department to PMGSY, essential repairs have been delayed, causing inconvenience to commuters.
Expressing concern over the delays caused by legal complications, Pathania urged for immediate commencement of work now that the litigation has been resolved. He called on the community to ignore any attempts by vested interests to politicize the road project, emphasizing the project’s importance for local development.
