Jammu, Oct 05: BJP spokesperson Ranbir Singh Pathania on Thursday announced significant progress in infrastructure development projects in the region.
Addressing a gathering of party members in Ramnagar, he revealed that a crucial project for the upgradation of Rown-Ramnagar road, with an estimated cost of Rupees 22.59 crores under PMGSY, has been finalised. Additionally, another essential project, the Sira to Shiv Gali route on the Dudu-SudhMahadev axis, costing Rupees 53.99 crores, has received approval.
Pathania highlighted the urgency of refurbishing the Rown-Ramnagar road, emphasising the inconvenience faced by local commuters due to its deteriorating condition. The road serves as a lifeline for nearly two lakh people in the area. Despite a brief delay caused by legal issues, he confirmed that the obstacles have been resolved, urging an immediate commencement of the roadwork.
The BJP spokesperson also acknowledged the residents of Ramnagar for obtaining the GI tag for Kaladi, a regional specialty. He called for the establishment of state-of-the-art facilities, including efficient marketing strategies and cooperative farming initiatives, which would enhance milk production and facilitate the setup of processing units. He highlighted the potential of Kaladi as a popular vegetarian snack, catering to the diverse tastes of tourists visiting Jammu & Kashmir.
Pathania expressed concerns regarding the ongoing rationalisation process, emphasising that it violated NEP rules and lacked prudence. He noted the confusion and uncertainty prevailing in rural areas due to staff shortages and the recent rationalization efforts. He called for a comprehensive review of these processes to ensure the welfare of the community.
During the meeting, a delegation from Dudu Basantgarh commended Pathania for his persistent efforts in securing the approval and completion of a bridge over Chhatriari Nalah. The newly-constructed motorable bridge over Chhatriari Nalah is expected to significantly improve the safety and convenience of daily commuters, preventing accidents and enhancing the overall quality of life for the local residents.
