Baltal, July 13: Over 2.80 lakh pilgrims from various parts of India have paid obeisance at the revered Amarnath Cave in just 14 days. The pilgrimage, which has been proceeding smoothly, saw devotees worshipping the sacred Ice-Shivlingam situated at an altitude of 13,500 feet.
According to sources, the pilgrimage has been well-organized, ensuring a steady flow of devotees to the cave shrine. This morning, a fresh batch of yatris, including women, children, and sadhus, embarked on their journey from the Baltal base camp. These pilgrims are making their way on foot, on dandhis (palanquins), and on pony backs, traversing the challenging 16-km-long track to reach the cave shrine.
Authorities have reported that the pilgrimage is being conducted under stringent security and logistical arrangements, ensuring the safety and convenience of all participants. The annual AmarnathYatra is a significant event in the Hindu calendar, attracting lakhs of devotees who brave the arduous trek to seek blessings from the Ice-Shivlingam, believed to be a manifestation of Lord Shiva.
As the pilgrimage continues, the number of devotees is expected to rise, marking another successful chapter in the history of the AmarnathYatra.
