Udhampur, May 26: Lauding India’s growing scientific and defence capabilities, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday said that Operation Sindoor stands as a shining example of the nation’s technological strength and self-reliance.
“Operation Sindoor has shown India’s scientific might. It has demonstrated that our scientists, defence personnel and jawans are second to none in the world. This victory is a tribute to their dedication. It is also a vindication of our steadfast commitment to self-reliance,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
He added that India’s military achievements are deeply rooted in the vision of a self-reliant India, shaped over the past decade under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“Our scientists know that India cannot depend on others to defend her. We have developed our own indigenous capabilities, and our successful attack is a symbol of resurgent India,” LG Sinha stated, adding that India’s military might is a reflection of the scientific community’s resolve to strengthen national security and drive economic growth.
The Lieutenant Governor was speaking at the flag-off ceremony of the ‘Physics Bharat Yatra’, a nationwide science outreach programme, held in Udhampur. The initiative is being spearheaded by the Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT) and the National Anveshika Network of India (NANI) under the leadership of renowned physicist Padma Shri Dr HC Verma.
Praising the Yatra’s mission to ignite curiosity and scientific temper among students, LG Sinha described it as a landmark initiative that will connect districts across India through immersive, hands-on science education.
“The Physics Bharat Yatra will cover every district of India, unifying diverse regions under a shared mission to revive the joy of learning science. It will connect schools, educators and learners through meaningful, interactive experiences,” the LG said.
He underlined the importance of integrating science into the cultural and educational fabric of the nation.
“When science is deeply woven into the fabric of society, it not only fosters innovation but can also significantly shape the direction of a nation by improving the quality of living for the entire society,” LG Sinha observed.
Calling for capacity building among science educators, he urged institutions to empower students with bigger goals and wider platforms for scientific exploration.
The LG also made a clarion call to Indian scientists and engineers working abroad to return and contribute to India’s scientific resurgence.
“The conditions in India today are ripe for pioneering research. Scientists returning home can help drive our transformation into a global scientific leader,” he said.
He further added, “The confluence of science, spirituality and sanskar has powered India’s global dominance. Our scientists, innovators and researchers are determined to reclaim ancient glory and build a developed India by 2047. It is our national resolve.”
