Jammu, Mar 08: Out of 80 Water Supply Schemes (WSS) taken up under ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’ in Jasrota Constituency of Kathua district, only 19 have been completed, while 61 schemes are at different stages of completion.
The government informed this in the Assembly on Saturday in response to a question by BJP MLA from Jasrota, Rajeev Jasrotia.
Poor response to tender, land disputes and NOCs from various departments including forest clearance are the main reasons for the delay in the execution of such projects, the government said.
It added that the work on all the remaining schemes is apace and the progress is being monitored regularly to ensure their completion within the mission timelines, subject to the availability of funds.
