Srinagar, Dec 10: National Conference provincial president of the women’s wing, Er Sabiya Qadri on Tuesday said the government led by Omar Abdullah is working to alleviate the suffering of women.
Speaking at a meeting of women’s wing office bearers in Zakoora, Er Sabiya said the Omar Abdullah-led government is taking proactive steps to provide administrative support to the women of Jammu and Kashmir. MLA Hazratbal Salman Ali Sagar was the guest of honour.
Qadri said, “The years of undemocratic rule in the region have worsened the situation for women, but the newly elected democratic government is striving to bring about positive change in all areas.”
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Salman Sagar urged the women functionaries to prepare for the upcoming ULB and Panchayat elections, highlighting the importance of their active participation in shaping the future of Jammu and Kashmir.
