Srinagar, Oct 23: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday stressed the importance of the party manifesto in outlining the vision and priorities that will guide the Omar Abdullah-led government for the next five years.
During interactions with various individuals and public delegations at the party headquarters Nawa-e-Subha here, Dr Abdullah listened attentively to the issues raised by the visitors. The party’s general secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar was also present on the occasion, the NC said in a statement issued here.
Dr Farooq assured the delegations that the government would address their concerns, saying that it may take some time for the democratic government to fully assess the situation and make necessary changes within the administrative setup.
Meanwhile, the president of the party’s Women’s Wing, Shameema Firdous, presided over a meeting with the functionaries of the women’s wing at the party headquarters. She emphasised the importance of reaching out to the public with the government’s policies and programs.
Provincial president of the Women’s Wing, Er Sabiya Qadri also spoke to the functionaries and urged them to continue working at the grassroots level to bolster the party’s strength.
