Srinagar, Dec 29: The National Statistics Office (NSO), Field Operations Division (FOD), Regional Office Srinagar, has wrapped up a highly informative and productive four-day Regional Training Camp on Socio Economic Survey (SES).
A statement said that Periodic Labour Force Survey and Annual Survey of unincorporated Sector Enterprise ASUSE at Regional Office were held in Srinagar from December 23 to December 27. The training camp was conducted in presence of Arif Iqbal Bhat, Assistant Director, NSSO-FOD RO Srinagar and Shri. Syed Adil Zahoor, Assistant Director, NSO (FOD) Sub Regional Office Baramulla. All the Field Staff (SE and FI) engaged in these Schemes of RO Srinagar, SRO Anantnag and SRO Baramulla including Coordinator SSO’s, Incharge/SSO’s of both the SRO’s participated in the said training.
“The camp was inaugurated by Adil Zahoor, Assistant Director of SRO Baramulla, who emphasized the significance of these surveys in understanding the socio-economic dynamics of the region. He highlighted the crucial role that accurate data collection plays in shaping effective policies and programs aimed at enhancing economic development and addressing the needs of the population,” the statement said. “The training sessions were conducted by Shri Arif Iqbal Bhat, Assistant Director, Sheikh Taheen Mustafa, Senior Statistical Officer at the Regional Office Srinagar. Sheikh Taheen Mustafa delivered comprehensive training modules, equipping participants with essential skills and methodologies for conducting surveys effectively and efficiently. He imparted the training on Social Consumption on Health and PLFS. Arif Iqbal Bhat imparted the training on Comprehensive Modular (CMS) Survey on Telecom.
“Throughout this RTC Camp, participants engaged in hands-on training, discussions, and interactive workshops, covering essential topics such as data collection techniques, survey methodologies, and the importance of statistical analysis in formulating informed policy decisions. The camp aimed to enhance the capacity of the workforce involved in these surveys, ensuring that they are well-prepared to carry out their roles with precision and professionalism,” the statement said, adding that Arif Iqbal Bhat, Assistant Director, NSO FOD RO Srinagar, expressed gratitude to all participants for their commitment and dedication and encouraged them to implement the knowledge gained during the training in their respective roles. He reaffirmed the region’s dedication to improving socio-economic conditions and the importance of these surveys as a foundation for informed decision-making. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Masrat Siddiq, Senior Statistical Officer, RO Srinagar.
