No changes possible in revised tariff order: KPDCL to FCIK

Srinagar, Dec 7: Managing Director Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) Yaseen.M Choudhary on Wednesday chaired a meeting during which a tariff revision by Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission (JERC) was discussed in detail.
The meeting was attended by senior officials of KPDCL, President Federation of Chambers of Industries Kashmir (FKIC) and other senior members of FCIK.
During the meeting, queries raised regarding latest amendments in tariff were discussed. The FCIK members were apprised of the fact that the tariff revision has come after a period of more than 6 years and it was revised by the Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission. The members of the FCIK were made aware of the fact that no changes can be made in the revised tariff order, wherein the LT industries are mandated to install meters that can read KVAH readings too. The MD, KPDCL along with Chief Engineer (Distribution) and other senior officials of the KPDCL gave a patient hearing to the concerns of FCIK. MD KPDCL assured them that their genuine demands will be met.
During the course of the discussion, the FCIK requested the top officials of KPDCL to look into their problems, wherein MD, KPDCL assured them that necessary action on the following points will be taken up: “KPDCL shall replace the damaged meters, that have developed technical snag due to the fault on 11KV Line of Bagh Ali Mardan Khan Industrial Estate out of their own. It will take up maintenance of the transformers and relieve SICOP/SIDCO/I&C from this burden, and will ensure uninterrupted power supply to organized industrial sector and clusters, and that KPDCL will take stock of the progress of the project being executed and assure FCIK that power supply to new units in Khunmoh/Wuyan will be made available within one month.”
Later on, the FCIK members presented a vote of thanks to the MD, KPDCL and other top officials of KPDCL for listening to their concerns. The meeting was attended Chief Engineer (Distribution), KPDCL, Superintending Engineers, Circle 1st and 2nd, KPDCL, Executive Engineers of Div 1st/ 2nd/ 3rd/ 4th, KPDCL, and all AEEs of the concerned divisions.
On behalf of FCIK, Shahid Kamili President-FCIK, Syed Shakeel Qalander, Zahoor Ahmed Bhat, Mehraj Qureshi and other senior members of FCIK were present.
 
 
 
‘Strictly adhere to power curtailment schedule’
Principal Secretary to the Government, Power Development Department, H Rajesh Prasad on Wednesday took a review meeting of Officers of Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) wherein a review of the power scenario in Kashmir was taken up and discussed.
The Principal Secretary was briefed by the Managing Director KPDCL Yasin M Choudhary regarding the present curtailment schedule of KPDCL, which is being implemented by the Sub Transmission Divisions of KPDCL. KPDCL engineers were directed by the Principal Secretary to adhere to the curtailment schedule strictly so that the public at large won’t have to face hardships. Directions were also issued to give the wide publication of the curtailment schedule so that it reaches every consumer of KPDCL.
Principal Secretary, PDD was also briefed by the Managing Director, KPDCL regarding the distress curtailments due to restrictions from the supply end. The Principal Secretary gave a patient hearing to the problems arising out of distress curtailments and assured that the matter will be taken up with the senior officials at the helm of affairs.
Later on, MD, KPDCL visited the Bemina Grid Station during peak hours to get apprised about the load shedding and distress curtailments. MD, KPDCL also issued directions on the spot that the curtailment schedule must be adhered to strictly and distress cuts be limited to the minimum.
The meeting was attended by Yasin M Choudhary, Managing Director KPDCL Shiv Anant Tayal, Managing Director JPDCL, all Chief Engineers of KPDCL, JPDCL, JKPCL, and JKPTCL All Superintending Engineers of KPDCL, and all Executive Engineers (Sub-Transmission Divisions) of KPDCL.
