Jammu, Apr 29: The Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) Jammu Office organised an enlightening awareness programme on Nidhi Aapke Nikat 2.0. The event aimed to shed light on the crucial initiatives undertaken by EPFO to serve its registered employees effectively.
Led by Rizwan Uddin, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-I, and District Nodal Officer Devinder Singh, Enforcement Officer, the program witnessed the presence of notable figures including Yasin M. Choudhary (IAS), Deputy Commissioner of Poonch, Sandesh Kumar Sharma (KAS), Additional District Development Commissioner of Poonch, Arif Mohd, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Dr Sarfraz, Professor at GDC Poonch, and Javed Iqbal, District Mineral Officer of Poonch.
Welcoming the EPFO officials, the Additional District Development Commissioner commenced with an introductory speech, extending a warm welcome to the distinguished guests and acknowledging the significance of organizing the Nidhi Aapke Nikat 2.0 program in district Poonch. Deputy Commissioner Choudhary lauded EPFO’s efforts in extending services to registered employees across various sectors and commended the organisation for hosting seminars to educate stakeholders about EPFO schemes, including “The Employees Provident Funds Scheme, 1952 (EPF),” “The Employees’ Pension Scheme 1995 (EPS),” and “The Employees Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme, 1976 (EDLI).”
In his address, Deputy Commissioner Choudhary urged all establishments, including contractors, sub-contractors, and the mining department, to adhere strictly to the provisions of the EPF & MP Act 1952 and ensure timely payment of dues. He encouraged employers and employees to voice any difficulties they encounter, assuring prompt resolution of their issues.
Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-I, Rizwan Uddin, enlightened stakeholders about EPFO’s initiatives under Nidhi Aapke Nikat 2.0, including E-Nomination, UAN Activation, KYC Updation, Bank and Aadhar Seeding, Online ECR Filling, and the salient features of the Employees Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme (EDLI) 1976 and Employees’ Pension Scheme 1995. The session included hands-on assistance for employers in DSC/E-Sign registration and ECR challan filing.
During discussions, attendees raised various issues concerning the EPFO Office, prompting immediate action from Rizwan Uddin, who ensured prompt resolution of grievances.
Notably, a death case grievance submitted by Parvinder Singh was addressed swiftly, with his claim settled on the same day. Additionally, interventions by the Regional PF Commissioner led to the processing of nine claims previously marked for rejection.
The workshop, spanning over one hour, facilitated an open dialogue where Commissioner Rizwan Uddin addressed concerns raised by both establishments and employees. An interactive session followed for another hour, offering stakeholders real-time solutions to their challenges.
The event also highlighted the social security benefits provided by EPFO, including the Employees’ Pension Scheme, 1995, and the enhanced quantum of Employees’ Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme, 1976, up to Rs 7 lakh. These schemes have been extended to employees in the Union territories of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh since November 2019, with detailed discussions held during the Nidhi Aapke Nikat program.
