Union Home Minister Amit has directed the Delhi Police to deal strictly with the networks that are enabling the illegal Bangladeshis Rohingyas to enter India as they are posing a national security threat. While chairing the review meeting of New Delhi’s law and order situation he issued strict instructions for maintaining the law and order in the national capital. In order to streamline the functioning of the Delhi Police he has said that police stations and sub-divisions performing poorly must be penalised.Defining prioirity of the Delhi Police he underlined that it must eliminate the interstate gangs in the national capital.Explaining the rationale for eliminating the cartels that are posing threat to the national security, there is a need for top to bottom and bottom to top approach.Over the years there has been the visibility of narcotics cases and as such the need is to bust the drug networks. It is an open secret now that the narcotics have emerged as an asset for the anti-national elements to sustain terror activities and has emerged as the mainstay of terrorism.Narco-terrorism is posing a serious threat to the internal security. It is destroying the youth and at the same time creating the foot soldiers for subversive activities to wage the war against the nation.Security agencies have established the close link between the illegal intruders and the narcotic penetration. Home Minister is right when he says that strict action should be taken against the entire network that helps Bangladeshi and Rohingya intruders enter the country, get their documents made and facilitate their stay here. The issue of illegal intruders is also related to national security, and it should be dealt with strictly. They should be identified and deported. Home Minister must extend this policy of identifying the Bangladeshi and Rohingya intruders in other parts of India as well. As their illegal intrusion has led to multiple security challenges. It has been observed that they are not confined to the national capital only but are present in other states of India as well.In Jammu and Kashmir too their presence is posing a challenge. It needs to be ascertained as to how these intruders enabled to reach Jammu and Kashmir and develop ghettos and dwellings in the heart of the cities under the very nose of the law enforcing agencies. It is an open secret now that the areas where they are concentrated have emerged as thedens of crime and other anti –social activities.Home Ministry must take note of this challenge and adopt a stringent policy to end this intrusion in Jammu and Kashmir.Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed immense strife and ethno-religious conflict for more than three decades leading to widespread devastation.Instead of allowing the illegal Bangladeshis and Rohingyas to sneak into Jammu and Kashmir there is aneed to develop a comprehensive policy to resettle the original inhabitants of the Union Territory in their homeland.Be it the Kashmiri Pandit refugees who were rendered homeless in 1990 due to terrorism engineered by radicalisation or the POJK refugees or the people left homeless at the border areas, the Home Ministry must issue strict advisory to the Jammu and Kashmir Police to crackdown on the illegal intruders who are emerging as the national security risk in Jammu and Kashmir. We cannot allow the squandering away the security gains archived so far. Borders must be sealed and cartels enabling the illegal intrusion must be busted and dealt accordingly.
