Srinagar, May 22: In an unprecedented development, the entire leadership of the National Panthers Party (Bhim), along with grassroots workers from the valley, joined the Apni Party on Thrusday, disbanding its own organisational structure.
According to a press release issued by the Apni Party here, the leadership and grassroots members of the National Panthers Party (Bhim) from the Kashmir Valley formally joined the Apni Party today, in the presence of party president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari and other senior leaders, during a special event held at the party’s headquarters in Srinagar.
On this occasion, Bukhari, along with other party leaders, warmly welcomed the new entrants. He assured them that the Apni Party would provide a reliable platform to serve the people in their respective areas.
Bukhari said, “I extend a warm welcome to all of you into the Apni Party. From this moment onward, you are an integral part of this organisation, and I assure you that the party will provide ample opportunities for you to work and serve the masses in your respective areas.”
“I am very much sure that that your joining will further strengthen Apni Party’s cadre in your respective areas. On this occasion, I would like to apprise you that, unlike other political entities in Jammu and Kashmir, Apni Party’s policies and agenda are firmly rooted in the principles of truthfulness and integrity. We are committed to working for the well-being of J&K and its people through a politics grounded in honesty and sincerity,” he added.
Bukhari said the Apni Party neither belongs to any family nor to any political dynasty. “This organisation belongs to the people — we are from the people, and we will always stand by the people,” he said.
Speaking about the Baisaran massacre, Bukhari said, “Today marks one month since the Pahalgam terror attack, in which innocent people were ruthlessly killed. This incident remains a scar on our collective conscience. However, we are proud of brave Syed Adil Hussain, who gave his life while trying to disarm the terrorists. We are proud of this young man who achieved martyrdom while trying to protect tourists.”
Speaking on the occasion, Haqeeqat Singh, who served as working president of the National Panthers Party, said, “We have decided to join this party after realising that this is the only political party, which, unlike other parties, did not try to mislead the people during its assembly election campaign. All other parties deceived voters through their misleading slogans and fake promises.”
