National Highway-1: DC Bla for coordinated approach to complete the project

Baramulla, Sep 21: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar on Thursday convened a meeting with all the executing agencies here to review the action taken report of decisions and directions passed in the previous meetings with regard to the construction of the National Highway Project-1.
.The meeting comprehensively discussed various agenda points including felling down of poplar and Mulberry trees, demolition of structures standing on state/kahchari land etc, shifting of utilities and other related tasks.
On the occasion, Dr Sehrish directed all the executing agencies to speed up the work on National Highway Project-1 to ensure its early completion. She asserted that since the project is of strategic importance, its time-bound completion becomes imperative to ensure its benefits for the larger interest of the people.
Regarding the demolition of structures, it was exhorted upon the concerned authorities to gear up the men and machinery for early demolition of the structures coming within the alignment besides directions were passed to handover all the notified land to the indenting department properly for starting construction work at the site.
The DC also directed that the Nodal Officer nominated by BRO will liaise with PHE, PDD and other departments whose utilities are coming under the alignment of SBU road and work for speedy shifting of utilities as per the MORTH guidelines within one month.
Moreover, the meeting was informed that the 3D Schedule in respect of village Palhalan falling in Package-II and 3D in respect of package IV (Baramulla to Uri) stands forwarded to OC 53 RCC for issuance of 3D notification.
Meanwhile, with regard to the construction of ongoing work on Sangrama Flyover, Dr Sehrish directed BEACON authorities to macadamize Sangrama alternate road for public importance to avert undesirable exigency.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr Zahoor Ahmad Raina; SDM Uri, Jatin Kishore; SDM Pattan, Syed Faheem; Superintending Engineer R&B, Reyaz Ahmad Parray; Superintending Engineer JKPDCL, Mumtaz Ahmad; OC Beacon besides officers from Revenue and Police Department were also present in the meeting.
