Srinagar, Jan 06: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha took part in the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in Srinagar today, expressing gratitude to citizens for their overwhelming participation in the program across the Union Territory. Commending their efforts to translate accelerated growth under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi into inclusive development and a Developed Bharat, Lt Governor Sinha highlighted the significance of collective strength in achieving economic betterment.
“The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra has instilled self-confidence in the poor and marginalized sections of society. Janbhagidari (public participation) is the strength of this Yatra, and the collective strength of the people will play a key role in the saturation of schemes and economic progress,” stated the Lt Governor.
Reiterating the government’s commitment to promoting equitable and inclusive development, Lt Governor Sinha credited the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for transforming the lives of the poorest of the poor through welfare schemes and rapid development in all sectors.
” Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji has empowered and enabled the common man to stand on their own feet for sustainable income and quality living,” he affirmed.
Focusing on Jammu and Kashmir’s achievements in the last four years, Lt Governor Sinha emphasized the consistent commitment to the economic empowerment of women, farmers, and youth for growth. He urged ensuring their access to and full utilization of the opportunities that the resurgent Jammu and Kashmir has to offer.
The Lt Governor commended the UT Administration for its dedication to serving the people and promptly resolving their issues. He also praised the efforts of Srinagar Smart City Limited and Municipal Corporation for transforming Srinagar City into a prime example of urban development.
Highlighting the positive change in people’s lives and the restoration of Kashmir’s ancient glory, Lt Governor Sinha referred to the massive and first-of-its-kind New Year celebration at Lal Chowk to welcome 2024.
During the event, Lt Governor Sinha administered the ‘Hamara Sankalp Viksit Bharat’ pledge to officials and citizens. He visited stalls set up by various departments, handing over sanction letters and benefits to beneficiaries under different schemes. Beneficiaries also shared their experiences and success stories.
The event witnessed the presence of several dignitaries, including Vidhi Kumar Birdi, IGP Kashmir; Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir; Sujit Kumar, DIG CKR Srinagar; Mohammad Aijaz, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar; Athar Aamir Khan, CEO Srinagar Smart City Limited; along with senior officers of the police and civil administration, and a large number of citizens.
