JAMMU, July 07: The BJP National President, JP Nadda, held separate meetings with the J&K BJP core group, former MLAs, and MLCs in Jammu to strategize for the upcoming Assembly elections in the Union Territory (UT).
As per sources, the primary focus of these meetings was to review the party’s strategy for the Assembly elections in J&K, expand its base, and address areas where BJP’s vote share declined during the 2024 LokSabha elections.
During these meetings, Nadda finalised the election strategy with top J&K BJP leaders and assigned specific duties to party members. Former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder, who attended both the core group and former legislators’ meetings, confirmed that Nadda instructed party leaders to engage with people in their respective constituencies to ensure better electoral outcomes in the upcoming Assembly elections.
The core group meeting took place late at night at the Guest House in Jammu, while the meeting with former MLAs and MLCs occurred the following afternoon, as part of Nadda’s visit to Jammu. RavinderRaina, BJP UT President, stated that Nadda commended the J&K BJP unit for its work and emphasized the readiness of the party to achieve positive results in the Assembly elections.
In addition to political engagements, Nadda visited the Raghunath Temple in Jammu to pay his respects before departing for Delhi in the evening. Following the meetings, Nadda also visited Vijaypur AIIMS to review its preparedness and assess healthcare facilities for the public.
Overall, the meetings underscored BJP’s strategic planning and organizational efforts in Jammu & Kashmir ahead of the Assembly elections, aiming to strengthen the party’s position and regain lost ground from the recent LokSabha elections.
