Srinagar, Jan 07: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Banihal, Sajjad Shaheen convened a meeting on Tuesday with Sub-Division level officers in Ramsoo to review the restoration works for roads, electricity and water supply following the recent snowfall in the area. The meeting also focused on the status of ongoing developmental projects, including infrastructure, healthcare, the Power Development Department (PDD), Public Health Engineering (PHE), education, and connectivity.
Emphasizing the importance of timely restoration, the MLA directed the concerned departments to expedite the work and ensure minimal disruption to public services during the harsh winter months. Officials were instructed to prioritize road clearance, restore power supply swiftly, and address water supply issues on a war footing.
In light of the challenging winter conditions, the MLA also held detailed discussions with officers from the Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution (CA&PD) department. They were directed to ensure adequate stocking of essential ration supplies across all depots in the region. The MLA stressed the need for uninterrupted delivery of ration to even the most remote areas to safeguard residents from any inconvenience during the severe winter.
Shaheen reiterated their commitment to accelerating developmental projects, particularly those related to healthcare and education, to improve the overall quality of life in the region. They assured the public that necessary measures are being taken to address immediate concerns while also focusing on long-term developmental goals.
The MLA called for close coordination among all departments to ensure seamless implementation of the directives and urged officials to work proactively to address the issues faced by the public.
Later in the day, Sajjad Shaheed conducted an extensive tour of Neel villages, engaging with local residents and taking stock of their problems. The visit provided an opportunity to directly hear the grievances of the people and assess the on-ground situation regarding public services and development. The MLA assured the people that their concerns would be addressed on priority and directed the concerned officials to resolve issues without delay.
