Baramulla, May 30: Dozens of political workers from various parties including Municipal Council president Uri Bharat Kumar joined the Democratic Progressive Azad Party in the Uri region of north Kashmir on Tuesday, the DPAP said.
Also, the block president Congress Ajaz Ahmed Beigh joined DPAP, the party said in a statement, adding that the “massive joining” took place in the presence of senior party leader, treasurer Taj Mohiuddin at Chandanwari.
“DPAP is committed to its promises made with the people of J&K and will leave no stone unturned for the redressal of the miseries of the general public,” Taj Mohiudin said on the occasion. He said the people in J&K were “deceived” by the successive regimes who have always neglected their genuine demands. “Such political leaders sadistically played with their emotions for which they will be never forgiven,” he said.
President MC Uri Bharat Kumar while joining the party said, “I couldn’t sleep these 21 nights in the Apni Party. Apni Party has no base in the constituency and (is without) any political agenda for Jammu and Kashmir. If the people of the UT have to come out of the prevailing chaos, it is possible only with DPAP which has a clear vision and mission for it.”
The other leaders who joined the party on the occasion are Aijaz Ahmad Beigh Block president Congress, Aijaz Ahmad Dardkot, Molvi Miyan Zahoor VP AAP, Mohd Ashraf Mir Dist. Gen Secretary AAP, Akbar Din and many others, the statement said.
