Maha Kumbh Culminates with a Message

Maha Kumbh has ended with a national message. The message is loud and clear that India is a civilizational continuity that transcends the domain of the textbook definitions for defining a nation. One can imagine the origin of India as a nation from the convergence of people based on the faith and memory of upholding the tradition that goes beyond human calculations. Prayagraj not only hosted the crores of devotees who took the holy dip in the Sangam waters but reaffirmed the national resolve to adhere to the civilizational values of divinity that have originated from India. As per the astrological calculations this Maha Kumbh has been witnessed after 144 years. It has showcased the national spirit that demonstrates national unity in a different way. Irrespective of belonging to different sections of the society, people converged at the Sangam and took a dip in the same water. Neither gender bias nor sectarian biases, all were focussed on embracing divinity. This is possible only in India where spirituality is held supreme. National sovereignty and national culture is not defined only by boundaries but civilizational values that come down from generations. The national inheritance of India is its profound adherence to the Sanskrit civilizational values that uphold the principle of “Vasudeva Kutumbhkam”(accepting the whole creation as one family).Message of national unity from the Maha Kumbh has established it beyond doubt that unity is inherent in the genes of Indians who can rise when the time and situation demands.To manage crores of people arriving every day to take the holy dip was not an easy task.It demanded a high level of integrity and professionalism.Not only that it was a battle of nerves as it needed a tremendous amount of homework to put the right person at right place to deliver the desired results.For the first time vigil was maintained by Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems that were controlled from the control rooms.Policing demanded extra caution and professionalism.It goes to the credit of the Uttar Pradesh Police who have proved their dedication to manage this unprecedented influx of the devotees.Things did not stop here.The gaze created by the spectacle of the event attracted a huge mass of tourists who wanted to witness the one in a life time phenomenon with their own eyes.This demanded tourist management with a vision.again the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department has delivered its best.The Rising Kashmir was part of the Press Information Bureau Team comprising of the journalists belonging various national newspapers and accessed the situation on the ground zero.It must be said without mincing the words that an integrated management system was in place enabling the tourist to witness the whole India at one place. Ministry of Tourism with its unique initiative termed as “Kalagram” was an excellent depiction of place consciousness and aesthetics of India at one place.This model of showcasing Indian culture and tradition has indeed evolved as a national model that can be replicated elsewhere.Message from the Maha Kumbh at Prayagraj needs to be internalised that India is emerging as a global spiritual destination and the demand for the Indian cultural values is increasing.The need is to integrate spiritual aesthetics with the professionalism in tourism besides the upgradation of infrastructure.Stampede that took place though reveals that mishaps can happen but there is a scope for value addition.So that we can march better to best management of such national events.
