Jammu, June 16: Former MLA and State Vice President, Women Wing of J&K National Conference Bimla Luthra on Friday said that NC is the only party that ensured equitable development and welfare of masses of J&K.
She said the people of the UT have been suffering badly due to “misgovernance” and there is nobody to listen to their grievances. “Rising prices is the major concern of the people and the BJP-led government has miserably failed to contain price rise and provide jobs to the unemployed educated youth in J&K,” she said while addressing a workers’ meeting at Akhnoor which was organized by District President Jammu Rural A Women Wing Kuldeep Kour.
“BJP has miserably failed to address the genuine issues of the people. Time has come to unite and get aware about the policies and programmes of the BJP which is dividing the people on religion and region,” Luthra said.
Exhorting the people to strengthen National Conference at the grassroots level, she urged the workers to fan out in their areas and help the masses in getting their grievances redressed.
Speaking on the occasion, Provincial President Women Wing Satwant Kour Dogra recalled the “opportunities provided by the National Conference since its inception by offering a vibrant platform to women to excel in politics, administration and other spheres of activity”. She referred to the “pioneering role of Madr-e- Mehrban Begum Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, especially in female literacy”.
“Jammu and Kashmir women will always remain indebted to Madr-e-Mehrban, who brought a huge turnaround in female literacy and as a result of sustained efforts the girls are now outshining in academics, excelling in administration and other fields besides playing their role in democratic institutions,” she said.
