Srinagar, June 03: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday visited the Balidan Stambh memorial site in Srinagar to review the progress of ongoing development works and issued directions for their timely completion.
The LG was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat, Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation Dr. Owais Ahmed, and other senior officials during the inspection.
Later in the day, LG Sinha also visited Lal Chowk where he met with local traders and shopkeepers. The shopkeepers warmly welcomed the Lieutenant Governor and shared their concerns regarding civic issues and the business environment in the area.
In a post on his official handle on X (formerly Twitter), LG Sinha wrote, “Interacted with the traders at Lal Chowk earlier today and reaffirmed the Government of India’s commitment to ensure a conducive business environment.”
The LG also visited the Balidan Stambh at Pratap Park in Lal Chowk, a memorial dedicated to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation.
Following the visit, an official spokesperson said that the LG directed SMC Commissioner Dr Owais Ahmed to take immediate steps to address the problems highlighted by traders and to ensure better civic facilities in the area.
