Srinagar, July 05: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested a terrorist associate of LeT outfit along with arms, ammunition during cordon and search operation (CASO) at Nowpora Jageer Kreeri of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A Police spokesperson said that acting on a specific information regarding movement of terrorists in village Nowpora Jageer Kreeri, Joint forces of Baramulla Police, 2nd Bn SSB & 52 RR launched Cordon & Search Operations in the said village. “During CASO one suspect tried to flee after noticing the CASO party, however he was apprehended tactfully”, he said.
He said, during his personal search one Pistol, one Pistol Magazine & three live Pistol rounds was recovered from his possession and he was taken into custody immediately. The terrorist associate was later identified as Mohammad Seediq Lone S/O Mohammad Ramzan Lone R/O Nowpora Jageer Kreeri.
He said, “During his questioning, he confessed that he was working for LeT outfit as terrorist associate and was working for active terrorists Adil Dantoo of Sopore and foreign terrorist Usman Bhai of Pakistan and has acquired arms/ ammunition from these terrorists for target killing and to terrorize the public in the district.”
“Case under Indian Arms Act & UA (P) Act was registered in police station Kreeri and investigations were taken up”, he said.
